Job Description
Fulltime 35 Hrs./Wk.
12 mth. Contract (Potential for Extension)

The Member Relations Coordinator will responsibly and professionally ensure the growth and retention of the Chamber membership, plan and implement member services including events, and assist with administrative tasks as needed such as accounts receivable/payable. The Coordinator works in a busy, not-for-profit office, generally for 35 hours a week; primarily weekdays, with occasional early morning, evening and weekend commitments. Graduates in marketing, sales, communications, business or event planning are preferred.
What you will do:
  • Develop and implement a yearly membership retention plan including relationship building
  • Develop and implement a targeted yearly membership recruitment campaign
  • Prospect, on-board and orient new members using proven sales and retention systems
  • Add member value by making connections among and on behalf of Chamber members
  • Develop and implement an annual strategy for member programs and services such as networking events and professional development (typically one event per month)
  • Produce member-focused social media content including video
  • Secure sponsors, venues and speakers
  • Attend Chamber events as required
  • Conduct sales of promotional products to Chamber members
  • Lead for accounts receivable
  • Front Desk coverage back up and administrative tasks up as needed

  • Event management expertise including securing sponsors, organizing logistics and effectively problem solving
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, database management, email marketing, CRM, and social media
  • Familiarity with accounts receivable/payable processes
  • Ability to coherently report on retention, recruitment and member services activities and achievements
  • A personable, positive, and enthusiastic nature that contributes to a healthy team atmosphere
  • Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
