It’s the sweetest event of the year! Come out to Lang Pioneer Village Museum on Sunday September 30 from 10 am to 4 pm for Applefest and enjoy a fun-filled fall celebration of apples and the harvest season.

Hop on board a free horse-and-wagon ride through the historic village and enjoy the sights, tastes and aromas of apples and the fall season.

Sample apple cake at the Milburn House and see how apple fritters are made at the Fitzpatrick House.

Learn how apples were preserved in layers of sawdust in the apple orchard.

Enjoy mulled apple cider, freshly baked apple crisp and other treats at the Keene Hotel, or purchase pressed cider and sweet juicy apples at the Cider Mill to take home with you. When at the Cider Mill, learn about how the Cider Mill presses apples into cider and then try your hand at using an old-fashioned apple peeler.

Learn more about how settlers preserved the fall harvest and prepared for the long cold winter.

Sit back and listen to the foot-tapping music of Cheryl Casselman and the Dandelion Wine Band.

Watch as fascinating 1880 and 1885 knitting machines, the first knitting machines made in Ontario, create socks before your very eyes.

View a variety of antique clocks and timepieces brought by the Quinte Timekeepers.

See broad axe hand-hewing demonstrations, weaving demonstration on the Jacquard loom and natural dyeing demonstrations over the Fife fire using logwood, Brazil wood, onion skins and more.

Stop by the Marie Dessler Foundation Vintage Film Festival display and enter for a chance to win two tickets to the 2018 Festival.

Kids, take part in schoolyard games such as sack races, an egg relay, rabbit sticks and of course, apples games!

In front of the historic village, enjoy refreshment or BBQ goods at the Lang Food Booth. Don’t forget to stop by the 172 year-old Lang Grist Mill where you will see wheat being ground into flour!
